Join us on a food extravaganza where we will sample a wide variety of our favourite street foods in the locals’ spots of downtown Athens. We will meet in Monastiraki and then take a short stroll around the market area and the social life area (Psiri) stopping regularly for tastings and sit-down meals of our most loved street foods, all in places frequented by the local community. We will visit one of the best souvlaki houses and sample their delicious pork or chicken skewers , eat a gyros washed down with Greek liquors such as raki and ouzo, local wine or fresh orange juice. Visit a local fish taverna and taste fried calamari and small fish.

Are you keen to learn about how and where Athenians shop and eat but dont have the usual four hours to spend on it? Then join our 2 hour walking and shopping tour and let us introduce you to the spice, fruit, meat and fish markets and enjoy a Greek coffee made the traditional way from the oldest coffee shop in Athens! You will have an opportunity to buy herbs, spices, olives, olive oil, natural soap products etc at local prices. Whilst we do not eat on this tour, you will be introduced to the tavernas and bars where we, like many other Athenians, go to eat and drink! Dont waste time on touristic food when you could go to authentic, traditional places and eat the freshest food in Athens.

Cooking class with an Athenian home cook

Join Antonia in her traditional Greek home close to the centre and prepare a typical family meal together. 4 hours of cutting, prepping and cooking whilst drinking wine and learning her culinary secrets. Antonia will meet you at her nearest metro station (Panormou on the blue line and just 4 stops from Syntagma) and take you to her home which is less than 3 minutes walk. You will work together in her kitchen creating the perfect seasonal salads, fresh sauces and meat dishes . Please note that we can accommodate most diets so please let us know what you require. After the food is prepared you will sit together on her balcony and eat your delicious meal. Of course, recipes will be shared so you can carry on making Greek food when you return home.
